South
side liveaboard excursions visit Phi Phi, Hin
Daeng, Hin Muang and Phuket’s popular day diving
spots of Racha Noi and Racha Yai. Most
leaving from the south tip of Phuket - Chalong
Bay. Shorter trips are more readily available
to these sites for one or two night stays. Phi
Phi has multi-coloured lagoons, fresh water caves,
interesting micro-species including harlequin
shrimps, ghost pipefish, sea horses plus great
beaches to escape to if you fancy an hour or two
of privacy.
Hin Daeng is an underwater limestone pinnacle
that rises a few meters above the surface and
drops to 60 meters. The pinnacle is covered with
soft corals and anemones with schools of barracuda,
jacks, trevally and sail fish. Hin Muang only
a few hundred meters away is completely submerged
and covered in purple soft corals and anemones.
Whale sharks and Mantas surprise many of the divers
as they enjoy the depth that surrounds the two
sites. The beauty of these magnificent sites is
that you can dive them all year round with water
temperatures rarely dropping below 29 degrees.
