Pro-Tech will be running a technical expedition to dive HMS
Repulse and HMS Prince Of Wales from the 10th – 14th of October
2007.
We will be departing from Singapore the evening 9 th we plan
to dive 3 days on the Repulse and 1 day on Prince of Wales.
We will be staying on board MV White Manta. This vessel is
completely set up to cater for Technical Divers with 14 sets
of double tanks and stages. Check out the
Liveaboard White Manta.
The trip will be limited to 10 technical divers who must hold
a minimum of extended range certification from a recognized
training agency. It is preferred that divers are Trimix certified
as diving HMS Prince of Wales requires the use of Trimix.
Rebreather Divers are also welcome we will have a booster
for this expedition but it is essential you pre-book dive
sorb for the trip as its not carried as standard on the vessel.
These vessels were the lead players in the operation Churchill
mounted to deter Japan from entering WW2. Tragically the operation
went sadly wrong when Japanese torpedo bombers found the convoy
and sunk both these ships with a huge loss of life.
Flights to Singapore must be arranged separately.
Spaces left are limited so early booking is essential.

Information on The Wrecks HMS Repulse and Prince of Wales
Both were Battleships, with the Prince of Wales being the
larger of the two. The repulse lies on her side in a maximum
depth of 55 meters with her starboard side being at 38 meters,
this can be dived comfortably on air. The Prince of Wales
is upside down with the deepest part of the wreck at 70 meters
and is very much a trimix dive. The Repulse is one of the
most outstanding wreck sites I have dived with the background
to the tragic event and your thoughts for those very brave
men who were on board this vessel when it sank.
