The Galapagos Islands have to be one of the top destinations for any serious diver. These unique islands give the rare opportunity to gain an insight into this vast array of amazing marine and wild life. A liveaboard diving holiday here offers a huge range of possibilities from diving with sea lions, galapagos sharks, eagle and golden rays, turtles, hammerhead and whale sharks to name but a few. Best time of year

The Galapagos Islands offer year round diving however there are two distinct seasons. May – December is known as the colder season and December – May the warmer season. Galapagos waters tend to be cool between 10 – 23 degrees despite covering the equatorial line. Visibility varies between 5 – 25 meters with the average being 12 – 18 meters.

How to get there

Many international flights operate directly into Guayaquil or Quito on the Ecuador mainland. From there a local internal flight will be needed to reach the Galapagos Islands. Please contact Agent Liveaboard for further information regarding this flight sector.

Currency – the Ecuadorian Sucre is the local currency, however most transactions are now performed in US dollars. ATM machines and currency exchange are limited to the few larger towns and credit cards are accepted.
Electricity is 110 volts with 2 flat pin plugs, please take adaptors.
Doctor availability is limited and the closest hyperbaric chamber is in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz in the Galapagos.
U.S, Canadian and most European citizens do not require a visa for travel to Ecuador, please check with the Ecuadorian Consulate before traveling. Everyone flying from Ecuador has to pay a departure tax of between $26 - $41, this depends on which airport.
All visitors must pay the Ecuador National Park fees of approximately $110 plus a $35 chamber donation.
All divers require comprehensive personal diving insurance it is advisable to purchase this before traveling.
