Cocos Island – World-class liveaboard diving

Destination

Explore this world-class diving destination with Agent Liveaboard. Lying 550 meters from the main land Cocos Island is certainly the jewel in Costa Rica's crown. The breath taking beauty of this island has inspired the film Jurassic Park, been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has also recently been nominated as one of the new 7 wonders of the world. Due to its rugged coastline the exact size is difficult to determine but Cocos Island is estimated to be approximately 47 square kilometers. Visitors are rewarded by an abundance of marine life.

Liveaboard diving is the only way to explore these mysterious waters. Cocos Island boasts over 20 dive sites offering drift, wall and deep pinnacle diving with the main attraction being scalloped hammerhead sharks, which appear in unbelievable numbers. Cleaning stations are plentiful which in turn attract many of the ray species. Large shoals of jacks make a tempting meal for numerous black tip and silver sharks.

Cocos is an amazing diving spot suitable for advanced and experienced divers looking for somewhere new to explore. If you are looking for something extra special why not try a deep adventure in the truly amazing Deepsee submersible offering a 360 degree view and depths of down to 305 meters.
